Why do women live longer than men?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Website Reviews

The life expectancy gap between men and women is shrinking in recent years, however women have always outlived men.

Here’s why:

Men tend to drink and smoke more than women.  On average women seek medical help more often then men.  Men are more apt to engage in high risk or dangerous behaviors.  Men also on average have higher stress levels than women, mostly due to working conditions.

The bright side is that most of these things can be prevented.  Get regular checkups, and engage in a healthy and active lifestyle.  It can ultimately add years to your life.

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Website Reviews

After having tried (and failed) with the patch, the gum, the various prescription medications, weening off, and the cold turkey method to quit smoking. This writer is proud to say that there is a method that works.

It’s a not a wonder drug, or a hypnotist, its just a book.  That’s right a book.  It’s called “The Easy Way To Stop Smoking” by Allen Carr.  It has sold more than six million copies and saved millions of lives.  Including my own.

If you have ever thought of quitting, get this book.  The reader is instructed to smoke the entire time, and it only takes a few days to get through.  Once your done, you have one last smoke and walk away forever.  It’s been 3 years for me.   If you’ve tried it all, try this!  Trust me it works.

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Website Reviews

A Pap test is an important component for womens health.  In fact, in some cases it can mean the difference between life and death.  A Pap can help detect early indications of cervical cancer.  In most cases early detection and treatment can prevent the cancer all together.

Any woman sexually active for 3 years or more should be tested routinely.  If you are younger than 30 a yearly pap test and pelvic exam is recommended.  For women older than 30, consult your doctor for recommended exam frequency.

The only women who do not require regular pap test are women over 65 who have had normal pap tests in the past and who are told by their doctor that they no longer require testing.

3 Steps To Better Health

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Website Reviews

1. Exercise - This word can make grown men and women panic.  But, daily exercise is not has hard as you think.  A simple 30 minute walk after dinner or in the mornings can add years to your life expectancy.

2. Eat more fiber
Diet is just as important as exercise for a health lifestyle.  Eating foods low in fat and high in fiber can keep you out of the doctors office and on the road to a long life.  Eat loads of fruits and vegetables, cut out the sodas and junk foods.  Focus on whole wheats and grains.  Your heart and your waistline will thank you.

3. Relax
Stress is a leading cause of disease and illness.  Some studies go as far to say that 70% or more of all health problems are born from stress.  Excercise can help reduce stress, so can meditation, and deep breathing.  Spend time everyday simply taking deep breaths.  You’ll be younger for it.
